We are delighted that the new extension for Cedars Youth and Community Centre in Harrow Weald has been shortlisted for two LABC London Building Excellence Awards. The scheme is in the running for Best Public Service or Educational Building and Best Small Commercial Project.
Cedars Youth and Community Centre is managed by Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust and offers a wide range of programmes such as over-50s sports activities, school holiday camps, football coaching, health courses and celebratory events. The 194m² extension to the building provided flexible workshop space for community groups.
LOM originally designed the centre, which opened in 2013, and were invited back to design the new extension to be in keeping with the existing building. The extension was delivered on site by contractor GPF Lewis Solutions Ltd and MAS architecture.
The LABC awards result will be announced at a ceremony in London’s Guildhall on 1st May.
