LOM is an architecture and interior design practice based in London. We are a RIBA Chartered Practice and certified Carbon Neutral Organisation, with expertise in education, residential, retail, workplace and mixed-use projects.
Our talented team creates exceptional buildings and spaces that inspire their occupiers and enhance their environments. Committed to providing excellent service, we get to know our clients and ensure we have a clear understanding of what they’re looking to achieve.
As designers we have a responsibility to the planet and to society, and are always looking beyond the brief to unlock new opportunities and to contribute to a more sustainable and accessible world.
We take a meticulous and strategic approach to ensure that the buildings and spaces we design work harder for our clients. To do this, we test out the different options to achieve the most effective outcome. Hands-on and highly collaborative, we bring everyone in the development team together from the start to realise the best design.
“LOM enjoy peripheral vision - seeing through the complexity and demands of any project, and always sensing where an opportunity might lie.”
Kim Gottlieb - Managing Director, London & Bath Estates
From head offices and houses, to schools and community centres, we design buildings that respond to their specific context and are tailored to our client’s needs. We’ve delivered projects of all scales, and have considerable experience working on listed buildings and sensitive sites. Our architects are experts at retrofitting older buildings – creatively rethinking spaces to help them fulfil their potential for new uses while raising their sustainability credentials.
It’s a collaborative endeavour. We work openly with clients through every stage of the project. We also maintain close relationships with leading consultants in construction, engineering, building services, information technology and sustainability, who bring our designs to life.
Our designs are always people-focused. Whether it’s a co-working space, a classroom or a cafe, our hands-on team always look beyond the obvious to create high quality interiors that will suit their inhabitants and enhance their wellbeing.
We take pride in creating spaces that are functional, yet distinctive, and inclusive of people’s preferences. We also enjoy designing graphics, bespoke furniture and joinery to make a space really stand out.
We are renowned for our research, analysis and strategic planning for corporate real estate.
Drawing on all of the available data, we create informed plans that address our clients’ current and future needs. These plans range in scale, from rationalising an existing office space to managing a global property portfolio.
A masterplan helps an organisation to achieve their objectives by providing clear direction on how a site will be developed over time.
We treat every masterplan as a creative, problem-solving exercise – an opportunity to enhance its surroundings. From a single building to a whole urban quarter, we maximise the benefits for clients and occupiers by shaping sustainable communities that have a strong sense of place.
Our friendly and straightforward people are passionate about quality design and providing the best possible solutions.
As a team of forty, we have the scale to provide a depth of expertise and continuity on par with any competitor. We assemble skilled and cohesive project teams, drawing on peoples’ individual talents and expertise. And our size enables our directors to provide hands-on support at every stage.
We work together as a team with our clients, wherever they are based in the world. We value face-to-face communication, and regularly meet with clients and visit our sites to help with the smooth running of our projects.
