LOM is very happy to have been part of MK Innovates STEM Festival 2023, organised by the fabulous Women Leaders charity and held at Unity Place in Milton Keynes. The event showcased organisations specialised in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to offer a two day schedule of activities to women, local schools, communities, and colleges. As the event was held at one of our recently completed buildings, this also provided an opportunity for us to welcome people into a wonderful new space and draw up on the design aspects and benefits of the new building.
Day one focused on providing career advice and support to women looking to move into or expand their knowledge on STEM related topics. Day two provided interactive activities with a younger audience, seeing over 1,500 students visit over the course of the day. We enjoyed teaching them how to draw architectural plans, the importance of safety and wearing PPE kit whilst on site.
