New directors announced at 25 year celebration

LOM architecture and design 25 years party

Over 150 guests from the worlds of architecture, banking, education, workplace and design turned out on Thursday 26 February 2015 to celebrate 25 years since LOM architecture and design first began business. The party at our new studio in the heart of Shoreditch welcomed clients including the Commercial Bank of Qatar, Crest Nicholson, HSBC and RBS, and industry partners such as Buro Happold, Schumann Consult and CBRE.

Guests sipped ‘Latent Defects’ and ‘Structural Failures’, green and blue cocktails – the colours of LOM and our sister company FDP financial retail environments – and tucked into mini sliders and local craft ales.

Addressing guests on the night, Peter O’Malley, Partner, LOM said: ‘Since founding the practice in 1990 we have grown to a team of over 40 working on a wide range of architecture, interior design and masterplanning projects.

‘To meet the challenges of the future I am pleased to announce a restructuring of the business from a partnership to an incorporated company. From 1 April 2015 we will be joined by two new directors, Simon Bird and John Avery, presently senior associates, and with the practice for over 15 years. Their talent in both design and management will significantly enhance and strengthen the next evolution of LOM.

He added: ‘We will be promoting some of those already in the practice to senior associate and associate, thereby creating a clear career path to the future. These promotions are deliberately made from within the practice; they will encourage new ideas and fresh thinking enabling us to remain relevant and competitive in our capacity as creators of value for our clients.’
