This year LOM architecture and design were partnered with Brazil Class, Year 4 from Northwold Primary, for Architecture in Schools: Primary 2017. The annual programme, run by Open City, the educational architecture charity, challenged the pupils to design an open city neighbourhood.
The programme includes a building exploration visit, class room model making workshop and inter school competition. Architecture practices are teamed up with schools to work on a project brief to teach pupils about the built environment and learn key skills in design and technology, maths and science.
Last year over 700 pupils from 18 London schools participated, partnering with over 60 architects and built environment professionals.
