Tesco’s Shire Park campus is one of the exemplar workplace tours on offer as part of Workplace Week 2017. Over the last 18 months, the campus has experienced a radical overhaul, with LOM architecture and design’s support to create a smarter flexible workplace that encourages colleagues to work collaboratively.
Incorporating eight buildings, spanning more than 450,000 square foot, the vibrant campus includes multi-award winning office space, a variety of collaborative and break-out areas, interactive meeting rooms, sustainable furniture and recycling zones. Employees can even enjoy one of seven on-site restaurants, a large fully-equipped gym, a GP service, on-site beauticians, dry cleaning facilities, a shuttle bus service and a choice of carparks with car-wash facilities and petrol station.
With much more to follow – including a multifunctional building opening in Spring 2018 incorporating a food quality assessment centre, Learning Academy, Express store, gym and outdoor sports facility, and with an application submitted to build an on-site hotel – the modern campus certainly checks out when it comes to innovation and investment.
Workplace Week is an annual festival that hosts a series of tours and bespoke events at some of London’s most innovative and creative workspaces, with all proceeds donated to BBC Children in Need.
