Working in partnership, Watford Football Club Community and Sports Education Trust, Harrow Council and LOM architecture and design, secured funding and planning permission for the £4.2m project to re-develop Cedars Youth and Community Centre in Harrow.

The project consists of a sports and community building, external all weather pitch and play space. The design solution is driven from the sensitive site within a much loved park. The building links with the park through both functional and aesthetic associations. Green planes and landscaping make a visual connection whilst a cafe and play area create a functional relationship.

Passive environmental considerations have also shaped the design from the outset resulting in an extremely efficient building. CO2 emissions will be half that of best practice reference building and 25% of the existing building which is less than half the size! The building was opened in June 2012 by Tim Loughton MP and Graham Taylor.

A fantastic community hub - so revolutionary. This place has everything for adults and children and I am incredibly proud about what has been achieved.
